DIY Italian Vinaigrette Dressing Recipe

Our easy-to-follow recipe combines high-quality olive oil, tangy vinegar, and a medley of fresh herbs and spices to create a dressing that’s bursting with authentic Italian flavor. Whether you’re dressing a crisp green salad, marinating vegetables, or adding a finishing touch to your favorite dishes, this homemade Italian vinaigrette will become a staple in your culinary repertoire. This salad dressing goes really well with a Cucumber, Red Onion, and Tomato Salad.

To make the salad dressing:

In a salad dressing shaker add:

  • ⅔ cup of Balsamic Vinegar
  • ½ cup Olive or canola oil
  • 2 pressed garlic cloves
  • 1/4 Tsp. dried basil,
  • ¼ Tsp. salt
  • 1/2Tsp. dried oregano
  • ¼ Tsp. dried onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Mix and pour onto the salad. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve it. This is something that I would make and serve the same day If you have an herb garden, or fresh herbs feel free to swap out the dried herbs for the fresh ones. Using herbs will only add to the salad’s aromatic profile. Last time I made this salad I accidentally added sage as well. It was good addition to the salad dressing.
